This house is like a sculpture with a strongly marked bipartite volume. 1st floor is a powerful stylobate comprising a number of functions characteristic of public occupancy: sitting room, dining room, office, garage and spa area. 2nd floor is responsible for private functions: bedrooms, interior garden, and playroom. Different-scale sculptural elements (window openings and balconies) are used as additional means of expression in facades designing. The decision is conditioned by the internal characteristics of the spaces, as well as the house orientation with respect to the cardinal directions. Flared jambs of window openings and balconies are hunting the sun due to the functional need for sunlight. This technique provides for a play of light and shadow on the facades, thus contributing to a more expressive house volume.
